[01:42] – Introduction to Wes Trochlil including a little about his background and the services he offers.
[03:04] – Why is data important to organizations? Wes explains why data is so important and how everything we do in associations has some foundation in data.
[03:46] – What are some of the smart and savvy organizations doing with data? Wes discusses how associations on the cutting edge have processes in place to manage data, analyze it, and then use it to improve marketing, communication, and service. He provides a specific example of a company that does this.
[05:33] – What would you recommend to an organization that wants to begin the process of data collection to get information about their membership or the market in general? Wes shares the importance of taking an inventory of how data enters through the organization to identify data channels.
[06:38] – A discussion about the fact that data doesn’t have to be large to be important and that it can come from sources that don’t utilize technology.
[07:57] – What is the implication of data to the learning function of associations/organizations? Wes explains how most associations use data to improve their marketing effectiveness and/or to develop new programs. He shares an example of this.
